2023 Season Preparations Begin

First of all, congratulations to all the teams who won championship rings this year! You all played great games and represented the league well.

Now, we’re ready to do our part by putting together an unstoppable family of Mizfit coaches, players, staff, AND fans this coming season. Here’s a rundown of what we’re looking for and how you can help!

PLAYERS
We’re always looking for players and this year is no different. If you’ve never played before, we’ll teach you the sport. If you have experience and you’re not sure if you’re able to keep up, come out anyway! There is no age limit (except being over 18) and no skill requirement to play. We have nowhere to go but up and we want as many women as possible to join us on that journey.

We’ll have interest meetings in August for those who need more information before the tryouts. These meetings will be inside at a local community center and open to anyone interested in joining the Mizfits. If you’re unable to attend a meeting, you can still come to tryouts. If you’re unable to come to either of those, but you know you definitely want to play, still reach out to us. We have the luxury of extending our intake period this season, so we’ll continuously be on the lookout for players.

The first interest meetings will be on August 13th. One meeting is scheduled at 2:15 at the Southeast Library in Antioch, TN. A second meeting is scheduled at 3:30pm at the Donelson Library. Also, make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up-to-date on upcoming events and tryout information.

COACHES
We’re looking for coaches. Overall, experience is preferred but not required. Our culture is fast paced, but we make sure everyone is on the same page to keep the train moving forward. Our coaches have regular meetings throughout the year. The head coach is Matt Breyemer who has been the head coach for one year and defensive coordinator for three years. We also have an offensive coordinator, a defensive line coach, and special teams coach. However, we are always looking for more to add to the roster, so it doesn’t matter what your specialty is. For more information about coaching, reach out to the owner and coaches directly at musiccitymizfits@gmail.com.

MEDIA NEEDS
The biggest goal this year is to stream every game and that will require some help to make sure we give a quality show to our fans who can’t make it to the games. We’re also hoping to amplify the in-person experience to new heights. We’re in search of a few camera operators, announcers, a music programmer (in charge of playing music in the stands), and a manager for the team. All the equipment needed should be provided and you would get into all the games for free!

One thing we’d like to improve is our pre-season videos and pictures. We have had amazing luck with our game day photographers and videographers, but we’d love to have someone who can come out to practices and other behind the scenes events to document our progress. This role would only be expected to come out to a few practices or events to get some footage that would be shared in different media outlets.

If you’re interested in joining the media team, you can email mizfitsmedia123@gmail.com.

GAME DAY MANAGER
We are looking for a game day manager for our home games. This role is in charge of everything going on around us on the field. There are food vendors, volunteer staff, players, media team members, and all manner of people who need direction. You would work closely with the owner to ensure the game goes on without any issues. If you’re interested in this position, email us at musiccitymizfits@gmail.com.

GAME DAY CREW
There are a few other roles that we need for our home games. Those jobs include holding the chains for the game, waterboy/watergirl, ticket taker, a merch attendant, and trainers. These roles will only take place during the home games and you’d obviously get into the games for free. For more information about joining our game day crew, email us at musiccitymizfits@gmail.com.

If you have any suggestions for ways you can help that you didn’t see listed, let us know! We’re always open to ideas to promote women playing football.

We can’t wait for the season to begin and everyone is welcome to support the Mizfits as you always have! Thank you!
