“In the Ladies American Football League Championship Game, the Music City Mizfits hit all the right notes when it mattered the most, weathering The TN Thunder Womens Tackle Football Team 40-6 to claim Nashville’s very first women’s tackle football championship!
What a long history the Music City has had in the women’s football game…from NWFA founding members the Nashville Dream to the Nashville Smashers finally to the Mizfits, it’s been a LONG time coming for Tennessee’s capital! Whether the Mizfits stay at 8’s or get enough players to move to an 11’s league for 2017, these ladies and their coaches will ALWAYS have the memory of standing tall as CHAMPIONS…something no Nashvillians have done before, and something NOBODY can take away from them!
As for the Thunder, no doubt this is a REALLY tough one to swallow…from beginning the year in the WFA through numerous injuries all the way to this point, the Thunder kept their heart and were set to weather ANY storm that came there way. Now they can get some well-deserved rest…whether they return as an 11’s team for 2017 or stay 8’s, the Thunder have a LOT to build on, and they are going to capitalize on every brick!” – Michael Burmy
